We didn’t want to announce this too early because the programme of ten weeks only starts in early March. (The late Chinese New Year this year was a factor.) 

The last writing workshop was in July 2016. Since then, we have surrendered the house that we are using in Jalan Tempinis 2; we will be holding the next programme at the Boardroom of the Royal Commonwealth Society (also commonly known as the Commonwealth Club) at 4, Jalan Birah, Damansara Heights, 50490 Kuala Lumpur. (Plenty of parking.)

Back from La La Land

Travelling to the US has always been nerve-wracking for me (unless it’s done illegally, I’m told). Are they going to profile me for the way I look, for my colour, for my passport; will I be detained for hours for interrogation; will I miss my connection; will I be strip searched, should I wear my good underwear, will they make me take it off ... But this time, with a new administration in place, my fears hit fever pitch. Will they let me board the plane; will they cancel my visa mid-flight, does my name sound suspicious, will they rampas my laptop, will they turn me back, will I get picked-on in the streets ...

Silverfish Writing Programme announcement: The early-bird period for the second Silverfish Writing Programme for 2017 has been extended to 30 June 2014 on request, and in view of the Rays holidays (and a technical glitch). So please make a note.

Our second programme for 2017 will commence on Saturday, 8 July 2017 after the Rays holidays (as originally schedules), and continue every Saturday for 10 weeks (except on public holidays) from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. The venue will be the cosy little house we have in Lucky Garden: No 22, Jalan Tempinis 2 (which has plenty of parking space, and is within walking distance of the bookshop in Bangsar Village 2)
