Stepping out with Aunt Mah Gee

Siew Ling went and sat on the rumpled bed. Her aunt too smelled of feathers and farm dust.
"I'm guarding the eggs and the mother hen," the aunt said. "They are there in the box."
"From what?" Siew Ling said.
"The musang," the aunt said. "You don't know how cunning and cruel he can be."
"Tell me about him, Aunt Mah Gee."
"Do you really want to know?" the aunt said. "The others don't care." Siew Ling smiled and leaned forward.
