From Pacific War to Merdeka

Some Malay ex-members of the Communist forces which resisted the 1942-45 Japanese occupation of Malaya now live in Sukhirin, Southern Thailand. In black and white photographs and recent interviews with four of the veterans, this small volume sheds light on the experiences and motivations of often-forgotten participants in the creation of modern Malaysia.
