Islam & Women's Reproductive Rights

The increasing attention given to issues relating to the reproductive rights of women is a fairly new phenomenon arising out of worldwide campaigns. Although the current attention given to issues of women's reproductive health, specifically, and reproductive rights, generally, is late in coming, it should nevertheless be welcomed and ought to be supported by all, including religious representatives. An awakening at every level of society has galvanised women into collective action to end gender discrimination. This book intends to demonstrate the deeper concern that is religion, in this instance Islam, has always shown towards the protection of women's reproductive rights.
