As time goes on we hope that without prejudice to its service to the group of countries in the British Commonwealth, The University's influence will spread widely, and that it may become a greater centre of learning and enlightenment of culture and humanity throughout Asia. We have faith that this university can serve far more than local purpose, that its fame will grow until it takes its high place among the seats of learning which bind all peoples round the earth together in recognition of the fact that human civilization is indivisible, and that all nations bring their own characteristic gilts to its rich and varied treasure house.
